GRINNELL, Iowa- The Midwest Conference (MWC) has released its All-Conference and Major Award winners for the sport of football. Illinois College was represented by five student-athletes receiving All-Conference honors.
Collin Brunstein received First Team All-Conference for his efforts this season. Brunstein has been phenomenal for the Blueboys in their offensive attack. He leads the team and ranks second in the MWC with 733 yards receiving and nine touchdowns. He stands at the top of the MWC with 29.32 yards per catch this season.
KJ Corley is another receiver for the Blueboys that received All-Conference honors. Corley was named Second Team All-Conference after putting together a stellar senior year. Corley totaled 439 yards with six touchdowns leading the Blueboys with 35 catches.
Offensive Lineman Maxx Boone was named Second Team All-Conference. Boone has played in all nine games for the Blueboys this season as a key leader on the offensive line.
The Blueboys defense was represented by two student-athletes. Trent Durell received Second Team All-Conference for his performance this year. Durell is second on the team and ranks 11th in the conference with 58 total tackles. He has totaled eight tackles for loss and two sacks for a combined 64 yards.
IC's sack leader Garrett Bearden was also named Second Team All-Conference. Bearden leads the team and ranks fifth in the MWC with 6.0 sacks for 35 yards. He also leads the Blueboys in tackles for loss ranking third in the conference with 13.0 for 61 yards. Bearden leads the team and the conference with three fumble recoveries this season.
IC caught their rhythm winning their final four games of the season. The team wraps up its 2022 season with a record of 5-4 overall and 4-4 in the MWC.
