DES MOINES, Iowa – The Illinois College track & field teams began the Drake Relays on Friday with two men's teams and one women's team competing on the blue oval at Drake University.
The first team of the day to take to the track was the women's 4 x 100 Meter Relay squad of Jaidyn Porter, Bailey Leitschuh, Olivia Molette and Andrea Hyde. With a time of 49.36 seconds, they finished 19th overall in the field of more than 30 teams.
The men followed in the 4 x 100 Meter Relay with a 14th-place finish, again in a field of more than 30 teams.
Rylan Hynek,
Brett Peifer,
Marshall Brown and
Chris Moore combined for a time of 42.63 seconds on the day.
Later in the afternoon, the men's 4 x 400 wrapped up the action for the day for IC. With a time of 3:23.55, the team of
Austin Spriggs, Brown, Hynek and Moore finished 32nd.
The Blueboys and Lady Blues wrap up the Drake Relays tomorrow with the running of the 4 x 200 Meter Relay. The women's event starts at 10:40 a.m. and the men follow at 10:55 a.m.
