By: The football, soccer and track programs at Illinois College ushered in a new era on Friday with the introduction of lights over England Stadium.
JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – A crew began work early in the day and went throughout the afternoon to add lights over England Stadium on Friday. The addition of these – one stationed on the northwest, northeast, southwest and southeast corners – will expand practice and game opportunities for football, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's track & field in the years to come.
Football will be the first to enjoy the atmosphere of a night contest when they host Aurora University on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m.
