The Illinois College softball team beat Houghton College before falling to Ohio Northern University in its final two games at the Dot Richardson Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, on Friday. The Lady Blues topped Houghton, 6-3, before falling to Ohio Northern, 14-0.
Courtney Kwasnitza had two hits, including a three-run home run, in the win over Houghton.
Abby Campbell scored a pair of runs.
Amanda Price was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs over seven innings, while striking out five.
Paige Meyer collected a pair of hits in the loss to Ohio Northern.
Leah Shumaker took the pitching loss after allowing five runs (three earned) over 3 1/3 innings.
The Lady Blues finished their spring trip with a 2-4 record. They are back in action on March 24 at Benedcitine University at Springfield.
