Josue Hernandez netted his first career hat trick and the Illinois College men's soccer team scored a 4-0 win over visiting Robert Morris University Springfield on Wednesday.
Hernandez scored his goals in the 14th, 28th and 61st minutes.
Ben Cochran assisted on the first and
Mesfin Lenth assisted on the second. Hernandez scored the third from the penalty spot. Lenth also scored for the Blueboys in the 23rd minute.
Scott Workman and
Jojo Comstock combined on the shutout for IC. Workman made three saves.
The Blueboys improved to 4-2-1 with the win. They open Midwest Conference play on Saturday when they take on Lawrence University at Jacksonville High School's Alumni Field at 1:30 p.m.
