JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College volleyball squad fell in a five-set thriller (25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-12) in IC's opening match of the Lady Blue Challenge inside Sherman Gymnasium on Friday night.
The loss was IC's first of the season and moved the Lady Blues to 1-1 overall. Anderson, who had dropped a four-set decision to Greenville earlier in the day, improved to 2-1.

The Lady Blues got off to a quick start in the opening set before the Ravens rallied and took the set 25-19. IC did bounce back in a big way, squeaking out a 25-22 victory in set two and then rolling to a 25-17 win in the third set. Anderson then rallied to take a 25-14 victory in the fourth set.
The final set was all Ravens at the outset as they jumped out to an 8-1 lead before IC put on a furious rally to get within two points, but it couldn't quite get over the hump and fell 15-12.
The Lady Blues got 13 kills each from
Delani Klaas and
Angelina Rogers and 12 from
Bridget Apsey. Klaas added a team-high 17 digs while libero
Mady Salisbury chipped in with 16.
Kennedy Ostendorf dished out 22 assists while
Liv Cox added 18. Cox also had a match-high six service aces for IC.
