ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Illinois College volleyball team split its two matches at Augustana on Saturday afternoon at the Roy J. Carver Center.
IC opened the day by dropping a 3-0 decision to Wisconsin-Stevens Point and then closed out the day with a four-set victory over host Augustana.
The Lady Blues are now 3-3, while UWSP improved to 4-3 and Augustana is now 2-4.
UWSP 3 IC 0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-18)
IC pushed the Pointers in the final two sets after UWSP won the opener 25-13. The Lady Blues took sets two and three to the brink, losing 25-21 and 25-18.
Delani Klaas recorded 10 kills, while
Mady Salisbury recorded 10 digs.
Kennedy Ostendorf dished out 19 assists while recording nine digs for IC.
IC 3 Augustana 1 (23-25, 25-18, 29-27, 25-22)
The Lady Blues bounced back from the earlier loss with a gutsy performance in a tightly contested match.
IC was powered by Klaas, who posted a double-double with 19 kills and 12 digs.
Elliana Huckstep added 14 kills, while
Angelina Rogers chipped in with 13.
Josie Hoagland led the defense with 21 digs while
Riley Drake added 15. Ostendorf handed out 37 assists while recording 17 digs.
