GRINNELL, Iowa – Illinois College's
Ketch Mills has been named the Midwest Conference Baseball Positional Player of the Week, the league announced today.
A sophomore from Hillsboro, Ill., Mills turned in a dominant three-game series against Lawrence, batting .583 (7-for-12) with nine RBIs, six runs scored, and four extra-base hits. In IC's 15-5 game two victory, Mills went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBI, highlighted by a three-run blast during a pivotal six-run second inning. He was also 2-for-3 in game one, homering and accounting for both of IC's runs. Mills closed the series with two doubles and two RBIs in the 14-8 win, driving in key runs during a four-run third inning as IC secured the series victory.
The Blueboys (13-12 overall, 4-2 in Midwest Conference action) will travel to Monmouth for a MWC doubleheader tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
