MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Illinois College baseball team continued to add to its historic 2026 season on Tuesday as three Blueboys earned recognition on the D3baseball.com All-Region 9 Team, announced by the website.
Tyler Barker and Nathan Walker were both named Second Team All-Region selections, while Nicholas Muskopf earned Third Team All-Region honors.
Barker, a senior from Payson, Illinois, capped off one of the finest offensive seasons in program history by batting .412 on the year. He became the newest member of the Illinois College .400 batting average club while also rewriting the program record book. Barker set both the single-season walks record with 41 and the career walks record with 77 during his time in Jacksonville. He added 16 doubles on the season, ranking third all-time in single-season history, while posting a team-best .537 on-base percentage.
Walker, a senior from Foley, Missouri, also turned in a historic season for the Blueboys. He finished the year batting .402 with 72 hits, 13 doubles, three triples, and four home runs. Walker ranked second all-time in program history for hits in a single season while also finishing third in single-season runs scored. He became the second Blueboy this season to join the program's .400 batting average club.
Muskopf, a junior from Millstadt, Illinois, made an immediate impact in his first season with Illinois College. He tied the program's single-season triples record with five while totaling 16 doubles and six home runs. Muskopf emerged as one of the Blueboys' top offensive threats throughout the spring and helped lead Illinois College to one of the most successful seasons in school history.
The All-Region selections add to an already impressive postseason for the Blueboys, who previously had seven players earn All-Midwest Conference honors. Illinois College finished the season with a school-record 26 wins after advancing to the championship series of the Midwest Conference Tournament.
