MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - After a dominant week at the plate, Ketch Mills has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week as the nation's top first baseman.
The honor marks Mills' first career selection to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week and the first for Illinois College since Charlie Lardi earned the recognition last season.
Mills continued his historic season with a standout four-game stretch. The sophomore from Hillsboro, Illinois, went 10-for-18 (.556) while driving in 15 RBIs and scoring 10 runs. He added six extra-base hits, including three home runs and three doubles, powering the Blueboys offense throughout the week.
His top performance came against Illinois Wesleyan, where he went 4-for-6 with six RBIs, three runs scored, two home runs, and a double.
Over the weekend, Mills also etched his name into the Illinois College record books, setting a new single-season program record with his 55th RBI. He now sits at 63 RBIs and counting, continuing to rank among the most productive hitters in Division III.
Illinois College will close out the regular season this weekend with a three-game road series at Grinnell beginning Friday at 3:00 p.m.
