JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The SSBU team secured a 2–1 NECC victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University on March 24, responding to an early setback with back-to-back dominant wins.
Game 1: Loss (0–8)
Mount Vernon Nazarene controlled the opener, handing our team an 8–0 defeat and taking an early 1–0 lead in the series.
Game 2: Win (3–0)
The team answered with a sweep in Game 2. Julian Luaders led the effort with 8 KOs, helping flip momentum and even the match at 1–1.
Game 3: Win (4–0)
Adam Byrd stepped up in the decisive game with 6 stocks taken, and the team closed out the series with a commanding 4–0 win to secure the match.
