JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College Esports Smash team dropped a 1-2 decision to Edinboro University on Tuesday night in the opening round of Nationals.
The Blueboys opened strong with a 2-0 win in Game 1 before Edinboro responded with a 1-0 victory in Game 2 and a 2-0 result in Game 3 to take the series.
Julian Luaders led Illinois College with 17 stocks taken and a 1.89 K/F ratio, while Jake Petrovich added six stocks and a 1.50 ratio. Illinois College was without Petrovich in Game 3 due to an academic commitment.

The loss ends a standout season for the Blueboys, who finished with two championships, a runner-up finish, and a nationals appearance.
