JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- Illinois College Esports dropped a 2–1 decision to Eastern University in NECC Valorant play on March 9.
Eastern opened the series with a 13-4 win on its map pick, Corrode. Illinois College responded in Game 2, securing a 13-10 victory on Haven to even the match and force a deciding map. The series shifted to Split for Game 3, where Eastern pulled away for a 13-6 win to clinch the match.
Despite the loss, Illinois College showed flashes of strong individual play throughout the series. The team has demonstrated the ability to take over rounds with strong mechanical skill, but continued coordination and consistent practice time remain key areas of focus moving forward.
