WHITEWATER, WI.- The Illinois College women's volleyball team opened the UW-Whitewater Invite with a competitive 3–1 loss against Rose-Hulman on Friday night.
The Lady Blues move to 4-9 on the season and Rose-Hulman improves to 11-4.
The Lady Blues dropped the first two sets 22–25 and 20–25, before storming back for a 25–20 victory in the third. Rose-Hulman held on in a tight fourth set, 25–23, to seal the match.
Illinois College finished with 53 kills on a .286 hitting percentage, paced by Delani Klaas (11 kills), Riley Drake (10 kills, 17 digs), and Laura Kaiser (nine kills, five blocks).
The Lady Blues' defense tallied 56 digs and 12 blocks, with Kaiser and Elliana Huckstep controlling the net. Setters Summer Brandis and Liv Cox combined for 37 assists, while Reagan Oster contributed 11 digs.
