ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Illinois College women's golf team was picked to finish fourth in the 2025 SLIAC Conference Tournament, according to the preseason coaches' poll released today by the league.
The Lady Blues return just two members from last year's roster: senior Emily Guest and junior Shelby Seiler. Seiler closed last fall with an 85.5 scoring average, while Guest finished with an 87.8 average for the season. With only two returners, Head Coach Jay Rowell has essentially built a new team, bringing in five newcomers to round out this year's lineup.
Grinnell College enters as the preseason favorite after back-to-back 13th-place finishes at the NCAA National Championship. The Pioneers return seven All-Conference golfers, including reigning Player of the Year Meilin Hoshino.
Lake Forest was selected second in the poll, earning one first-place vote and 73 total points, followed by Spalding University in third with 56 points. Illinois College was picked fourth with 51 points, just ahead of MUW (50).
