ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Macie Petropoulos finished in a tie for second place in her collegiate debut, helping lead the Lady Blues to a fifth-place finish at the Highland Championships on Sunday and Monday.
After a fantastic start to the tournament on day one, Petropoulos came back in round two and shot a five-over 77 to finish the tournament at eight-over par. Her opening-round 75 was good enough to etch her name in the record book for the ninth-lowest round in IC history, and her two-round total of 152 ranks fourth all-time in the 36-hole category.
Emily Guest (82), Shelby Seiler (88), and Karlie Basler (89) rounded out the top four scores for the Lady Blues in their fifth-place finish. The team shot a two-round total of 668, which places them 13th all-time in the program's 36-hole record book.
With such a strong start, this young class looks poised to continue adding their names to the record books as the season gets underway.
