GRINNELL, Iowa – Five members of the Illinois College softball team earned All-Conference postseason honors, it was announced by the league today.
Jordan Closs heads the list of honorees. The junior from Niantic, Ill., was named the league's Pitcher of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and first-team All-Conference.Â
Closs, who transferred to IC from St. Francis College, finished the season 13-4 with a 1.78 ERA. She had 152 strikeouts in 129 2/3 innings of work and tossed the first two perfect games in school history. She also authored a scoreless innings streak of 55 2/3, the eighth-longest in NCAA Division III history and the longest in the division since 2011. In conference play, Closs was a perfect 8-0 with a 0.28 ERA and 70 strikeouts in 50 innings.
Closs was joined on the first team by classmates
Kendall Cole,
Taylor Henry, and
Brooke Loveall.
Cole was honored at first base after batting .293 on the season with a team-high 12 doubles and 21 RBI. Henry was an at-large honoree after batting .383 with nine doubles and 23 RBI. Loveall was the first-team catcher after leading IC in batting (.429), runs scored (31), hits (48), triples (6), and home runs (2).Â
IC's lone representative on the second team was sophomore outfielder
Shelby Seiler. Seiler batted .374 with four doubles, a pair of triples, and 22 RBI.
The Lady Blues finished the 2025 season with a 25-18 overall record, including a 13-3 slate in Midwest Conference play.
