GRINNELL, Iowa – Charlie Lardi has been named the Midwest Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced today.
This marks Lardi's second Pitcher of the Week honor this season. He delivered a standout performance on Saturday, tossing 7.2 innings in a combined no-hitter against Knox. The accolade adds to an impressive season for Lardi, who was also named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week two weeks ago.
Lardi tied the school record with 13 strikeouts in the game, improving his season record to 5-0. He now has 53 strikeouts over 37.1 innings pitched and has surrendered just one earned run over his last three outings for the Blueboys.
The Blueboys hit the road once again for a conference series against Cornell College on Saturday and Sunday with first pitch scheduled for 12:00pm.
