4/7/2025 10:46:00 AM

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- Illinois College Esports fell to Michigan State 0-2 in the winners' semifinals of the MEC playoffs. Game one was a hard-fought battle that ended 0-2, while game two saw Michigan State dominate in an 0-8 sweep.

In Game one, Lucas Schultz opened strong by taking 2 stocks off Zammo's Little Mac. Devin Ussery cleaned up the last stock but was quickly eliminated by Pikz's Pyra/Mythra. Jake Petrovich added two more stocks before being knocked out, while Noah Horsman was unable to break through. Julian Luaders closed the gap with a huge run, cleaning up Pikz, three-stocking Ha1o's Falco, and taking out Cal's Pokémon Trainer before trading final stocks with J3T's Meta Knight.

Game two saw a tougher start, as Schultz, Ussery, and Luaders combined for just 2 stocks against Cal's Pokémon Trainer, who tore through IC's lineup early. Horsman and Petrovich picked up a few stocks late, but the deficit was too much to overcome as Michigan State closed it out convincingly.
