BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois College men's golf team kicked off the 2025 spring season with a seventh-place finish at the Cougar Spring Shootout, hosted by ICC. The tournament was held at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.
The Blueboys competed with two teams in the season opener, with the Blue team shooting 339 (+55) and the White team finishing at 349 (+65).
Jarrett James led the way for IC, firing a 77 (+5) to start his final semester with the Blueboys. James recorded two birdies on the front nine and secured a fifth-place finish in the tournament.
Tobin Nell,
Caden Tinsley, and
Dylan Clark rounded out the top four for the Blue team.
For the White team,
Myles Kampwerth shot a 79 (+7), placing 13th overall.
AJ Odle,
Cole Bartels, and
Isaac Anderson contributed to the team's performance, resulting in a tie for 12th place.
Parkland won the tournament with a team score of 310, while the host, ICC, finished second with a four-man total of 313.

The Blueboys return to action on April 4–5, heading back to Normal for the Illinois Wesleyan Invite at Ironwood Golf Course and Weibring Golf Course. Play begins on Friday with a shotgun start at 12:00 p.m.
