Blueboys Wrap Up Season with Seventh Place Finish at SLIAC Championships

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College men's golf team wrapped up its 2025–26 season on Tuesday at the SLIAC Conference Championships, held at Far Oaks Golf Course, finishing in a tie for seventh place with a three-round total of 921 (+57).

After opening the tournament with a 300 (+12) on Sunday, the Blueboys sat in a tie for fourth place and within striking distance of the leaderboard. Illinois College was led in the opening round by Emmitt Brokaw, who carded a 73 (+1), highlighted by a back-nine 34 (-2) and five birdies. Isaac Anderson followed closely with a 74 (+2), while Myles Kampwerth added a 76 (+4). Teddy Walbaum posted a 77 (+5) to round out the team scoring.

Round two was impacted by weather, as play was suspended Monday due to storms in the area. The Blueboys returned Tuesday morning to complete the round, finishing with a team score of 307 (+19). Kampwerth led the way with a 73 (+1), while Anderson and Walbaum each recorded rounds of 77 (+5). AJ Odle improved from his first round with an 80 (+8), and Brokaw added an 82 (+10). Following two rounds, Illinois College sat in a tie for sixth place heading into the final day.

In the final round, the Blueboys posted a 314 (+26), bringing their tournament total to 921 (+57). Walbaum led the team on the final day with a 75 (+3), while Anderson carded an 81 (+9). Brokaw and Odle each turned in rounds of 79 (+7), and Kampwerth finished with an 86 (+14).

Walbaum paced Illinois College across the three-day event, finishing tied for 20th with a 54-hole total of 229 (+13), which ranks as the 13th-best 54-hole score in program history. As a team, the Blueboys 921 total marks the third-best 54-hole team score in Illinois College history.

Illinois College finished tied for seventh alongside Spalding University, while Grinnell College claimed the conference title with a team total of 886.

Isaac Anderson was named to the All-SLIAC Sportsmanship Team as voted on by the conference and coaching staff.
