JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Esports team faced off against Michigan State University in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, falling 0-3 in a tough crew battle.
Theo Biela opened for IC but struggled against Zammo's Little Mac, being 3-stocked without taking any in return. Lucas Schultz made his collegiate debut, managing to take one stock off Zammo before being eliminated. Devin Ussery followed, also taking a single stock before losing all three of his own.
Jake Petrovich turned the tide for Illinois College, finishing Zammo's last stock and putting on a dominant showing by taking three stocks off Pikz's Aegis while losing two himself. He continued his streak by sweeping all three of Ha1o's Falco stocks without losing any, before facing Fair's Banjo. Unfortunately, he was eliminated without taking a stock.
Julian Luaders closed out the match, taking two stocks from Fair's Banjo before being 1-stocked, sealing the 3-0 loss for Illinois College.
