GRINNELL, Iowa – Charlie Lardi has been named the Midwest Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league today.
This marks Lardi's first time receiving the honor and the first time a Blueboy has earned the accolade since
Jack McGuire during the 2023 season.
Lardi delivered a stellar performance on Saturday, tossing a three-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts to help Illinois College sweep Monmouth in the Midwest Conference opening doubleheader. His 12 strikeouts were just one shy of tying the school record for strikeouts in a single game. The victory improved Lardi's season record to 3-0 with a 3.57 ERA.
The Blueboys are scheduled to play a doubleheader today at Millikin University, with the first pitch set for 3:00 p.m.
