GRINNELL, Iowa – Nolan Decker has been named the Midwest Conference Baseball Positional Performer of the Week, as announced by the league today.
This marks Decker's first time receiving the honor and the first time a Blueboy has won the award since Adam Passmore earned it in March of last season.
The Jacksonville native delivered a standout performance in IC's season opener, helping the team secure a split in the doubleheader. He went 4-for-7 at the plate, highlighted by a grand slam and a double. Decker racked up eight RBIs and crossed the plate three times on the day.
The Blueboys will travel to Greenville University on Wednesday for a 1:00 PM game at Robert E. Smith Field before heading to Florida for spring break.
