GRINNELL, Iowa – The Illinois College women's swimming team rewrote the school's record book during the second day of the 2025 Midwest Conference Championships at the Russell K. Osgood Pool and Deck/Natatorium on Friday.
In the morning preliminary session,
Abby Stevens set the school record in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a time of 5:28.76.
Jena Sellers clocked the third-fastest time in program annals in the 50-yard freestyle when she swam a 25.36.
In the evening session, Stevens re-wrote the record book for the second time of the day in the 500-yard freestyle, lowering the record by three seconds with her 5:25.85 effort.
Sellers came back in the nightcap of the 50-yard freestyle and posted the third-fastest time in program history in 25.26 seconds.
