JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Valorant team saw its fall NECC season come to an end in a hard-fought first-round playoff matchup against Lakeland University, falling 1–2 in the best-of-three series.
IC came out strong on its map pick, Bind, earning a 14–12 victory behind clutch performances across the roster. Lakeland responded on Pearl, taking the second map 13–8 to even the series. The decisive third map on Haven proved to be one of the tightest contests of the season, but Illinois College ultimately came up just short in a 14–12 defeat.
The series featured a historic showing from Dwight Duijneveld, who recorded a staggering 87 kills, breaking his own Illinois College single-series record set earlier this season. Fray Moulton also notched one of the top-five kill totals in program history with 68, underscoring the dominance of IC's leading duo.
