WAVERLY, Iowa – Illinois College Esports wrapped up an impressive weekend at the Midwest Esports Conference (MVEC) Championships, bringing home a trophy after a strong showing in Waverly, Iowa.
The Valorant squad led the way, earning third place overall and securing hardware for the program. IC opened with a commanding 2–0 win over Morningside before falling narrowly to the top-seeded Cornell College, 2–1, in the semifinals. The team rebounded in the third-place match, sweeping Gustavus Adolphus 2–0 to clinch the final trophy position.
In Rocket League, IC battled through a competitive bracket to finish fifth overall. IC dropped its opening match to Jamestown (0–4) and came up just short against Wartburg in a tight 3–4 contest. The team closed out its weekend on a high note, earning a 4–1 victory over Buena Vista to secure fifth place.
