10/29/2025 9:43:00 AM

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College Rocket League team came up just short in a hard-fought MVEC matchup against Gustavus Adolphus College on October 27, falling 3–4 in a best-of-seven series.

Illinois College came out firing, taking the first three games with scores of 2–1, 5–0, and 3–2 to build a commanding 3–0 series lead. However, Gustavus Adolphus mounted a strong comeback, claiming the next four games 4–3, 3–1, 5–3, and 2–1 to complete the reverse sweep and edge out IC in a tightly contested matchup.

Lucas Barry led Illinois College with eight goals, three assists, and eight saves while firing off 32 shots. Glenn Conway contributed six goals and four assists, while Dwight Duijneveld added seven goals, two assists, and four saves in a balanced team performance.

The loss drops Illinois College to 1–5 on the season, tying them with Gustavus Adolphus in the MVEC standings. Playoff implications now hinge on Buena Vista's upcoming match against Wartburg. If Buena Vista loses, IC will advance as the fifth seed into the MVEC Championships; if they win, Illinois College's season will come to a close.
