JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College Valorant team dropped a hard-fought NECC matchup against Drury University, falling 0–2 on Thursday night. Despite facing one of the top teams in the conference, IC showed resilience and nearly forced a decisive third map.
The series opened on Bind, the Blue team's map pick, where Drury came out strong to take a 13–4 win. Illinois College responded with a strong showing on Corrode, pushing the undefeated Drury squad to the limit before narrowly dropping a 14–12 thriller.
Dwight Duijneveld led the team with 45 kills and a 1.53 KDA to go along with 11 first bloods and 10 first deaths in an aggressive entry role. Jonest Eisfelder followed with 30 kills and a 1.03 KDA, while Fray Moulton added another 30 kills and a 1.31 KDA. Carter Naeve and Ekko Nguyen rounded out the lineup with key plants and utility support across both maps.
The loss drops Illinois College to 3–2 on the season and sets up a pivotal final regular-season match against Missouri Valley College that could determine playoff positioning.
