JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College volleyball team continued its strong Midwest Conference start with a sweep of Ripon College on Thursday night inside Sherman Gymnasium.
The Lady Blues claimed the match in straight sets, 25–15, 27–25, 25–18, improving to 7–14 overall and 2–0 in league play.
Riley Drake powered the offense with 16 kills while hitting .367, and Haylie Orton followed with seven kills and two service aces. Delani Klaas added nine kills and an ace, while Laura Kaiser chipped in three blocks at the net.
Setter Summer Brandis directed the attack with 22 assists and added two aces and eight digs. Kahli O'Neal tallied 11 assists, and Mady Salisbury anchored the defense with 14 digs and a service ace.
Illinois College hit .241 as a team and recorded nine aces and six total blocks in the victory. The Lady Blues held Ripon to a .069 attack percentage and just 26 kills on the night.
