JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Illinois College Esports program continued its strong late-season form on Tuesday, earning dominant sweeps in both NECC Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and MVEC Valorant competition. The Smash Bros. team rolled past Illinois State University 2–0, while the Valorant roster powered to a 2–0 victory over Southwest Baptist University.
The Super Smash Bros. crew cruised to a 3–0 win in Game 1 before closing out the series with a convincing 6–0 result in Game 2. With ISU fielding its third team, Illinois College used the opportunity to give freshmen valuable stage time. Adam Byrd stood out in Game 2, claiming seven stocks to seal the sweep and showcase his growing confidence. The match also marked the official IC debut for Alex Rhoades, who turned in a solid first performance.

In MVEC Valorant play, Illinois College swept Southwest Baptist University 2–0 in commanding fashion, winning 13–3 on Abyss and 13–2 on Bind. The team intentionally selected Abyss — a map recently updated in the latest patch — to challenge themselves and gain live match experience. The decision proved successful, as IC maintained composure and executed cleanly across both maps.
Fray Moulton led the charge with a 3.77 KDA, the third-highest single-series performance in program history, trailing only Dwight Duijneveld's 5.00 and Noah Horsman's 4.33 marks. Duijnveveld and Jonest Eisfelder also delivered standout games, combining for 75 kills in the sweep.
