FULTON, Mo – The Lady Blues traveled to Fulton Missouri for a non-conference match on Tuesday to take on Westminster College after coming off a 2-0 start in the IC Invitational. IC dropped the match in four sets to move to 2-1.
IC was led once again by
Ligaya Garibay with 16 kills on the night while Laura Kiser added 8 herself.
Kahli O'Neal and
Summer Brandis ended the night with a combined total of 39 assists, and
Riley Drake led the team with 18 digs.
Overall, the Lady Blues fought strong after losing the opening set 25-22 by coming back to win the second set 25-15. IC would lose the next two sets 25-21 to drop the match. The difference in the match came down to the serving as Westminster recorded seven aces to the Lady Blues' two. IC led the match in kills, but they also ended the match with twelve serving errors.
The Lady Blues are back in action this weekend as they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to compete in the Transylvania University Invitational slated to play three matches on the road trip.
