Volleyball Gets the Sweep in the Final Day of the Rose-Hulman Invitational

Terre Haute, Ind- The Illinois College women's volleyball team played in two matches in the final day of the Rose-Hulman Invitational against Saint Mary's and Anderson, where the Lady Blues won both matches 3-0.

These wins move the Lady Blues to 8-9 on the season and gear up for conference play starting this upcoming week.

Game 1: IC 3 Saint Mary's 0

Ella Ausmus and Haylie Orton were the key contributors to the Lady Blues victory in the first match of the day as Ausmus added 11 kills and Orton added 10 kills herself. Kahli O'Neal led the Lady Blues in assist on the match with 20.

IC ended the first game with a .346 hitting percentage and Saint Mary's ended with .299, but the difference for the Lady Blues was the serving aces as IC ended with 18 serving aces including Riley Drake with six aces in the match.

Game 2: IC 3 Anderson 0

Ligaya Garibay was able to get going for the Lady Blues in game two ending the match with 15 kills. Summer Brandis ended the match with 20 assists to lead Illinois College, and IC was able to hold Anderson to a .055 hitting percentage in the match.

IC ended the match with only 10 hitting errors as Anderson ended the match with 22. Ligaya Garibay and Reagan Oster ended with 12 digs in game two as well to boost the Lady Blues in a 3-0 win over Anderson.

The Lady Blues are back in action on Wednesday against Washington University as they are gearing up for conference play starting next week.
