JACKSONVILLE, Ill- The Illinois College women's volleyball team hosted a three-team round robin for Illinois College's celebration of Hollywood on the Hilltop for Homecoming 2024. The Lady Blues started the day off with a 3-0 conference win over Lake Forest and then dropped the non-conference match to Central College 3-0.
This split moves IC to 12-14 on the season with just two regular season games remaining. Lake Forest dropped to 4-17 and moves Central College to 18-7.
Match 1: Illinois College 3 Lake Forest 0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-13)
The Lady Blues came out strong in the big conference match to Lake Forest and ended the match with a .304 hitting percentage to propel IC to a big three set win over the Foresters.
Ella Ausmus got the Lady Blues going ending with a team leading 11 kills on 17 attempts to finish with a .647 hitting percentage. Along with Ausmus,
Ligaya Garibay added seven kills and
Haylie Orton and
Riley Drake added six as well.
Alex Johnson ended with a team leading 15 digs in the match and Garibay added 11 as well.
Laura Kaiser defended well once again with two block solos for the Lady Blues.
Match 2: Central College 3 Illinois College 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20)
Illinois College was held to a .156 hitting percentage with the Dutch ended with a .289 hitting percentage.
Laura Kaiser led the Lady Blues with eight kills on 13 attempts to end with a .538 percentage in the match.
Summer Brandis added 17 assists and four digs, and
Ligaya Garibay added a team leading 10 digs for the match. Delani Klass ended with six kills on 11 attempts as well for IC.
The Lady Blues ended with 43 errors in the match while the Dutch ended with 27.

With just two matches remaining for the Lady Blues, they look to get another conference win on Saturday, November 2
nd at 1:00pm against Knox College at home for senior night.
