Lady Blues Volleyball Defeat Blackburn in Straight Sets

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College volleyball continued their road quest with a visit at Blackburn College Thursday night. The Lady Blues defeated the Beavers in straight sets by the final scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-14. IC improves to 6-4 overall this season. 

The Lady Blues were led on offense by Alyssa Burglund with a team-high 17 kills on 28 total attacks. Ligaya Garibay contributed eight kills while Paige Knuffman added seven. 

Summer Brandis dished out 28 assists and led the defense with 10 digs as Jen Humbolt collected nine digs.   

IC ended the match with 47 kills and five service aces. 

The Lady Blues will travel to Millikin University on Friday, September 22 to participate in the Millikin University Invitational starting at 3:30 PM against the Big Blue.
