ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois College volleyball team traveled to Fontbonne University Tuesday night. The Lady Blues defeated the Griffins in a back-and-forth battle in five sets.
Paige Knuffman scored the final two points of the match with back-to-back kills to win the final set by the score of 15-12.
The Lady Blues had three student-athletes finish in double-figures in the category of kills. Knuffman led the offense with 17 kills as
Laura Kaiser contributed 12 and
Ligaya Garibay added 10.
IC also had three different student-athletes finish in double-figures on the defensive side of the net.
Jen Humbolt collected a team-high 20 digs while
Alyssa Burglund secured 15 and
Summer Brandis and Knuffman each added 10 digs.
The Lady Blues will travel to Blackburn College on Thursday, September 14 to face the Beavers at 7:00PM.
