MOUNT VERNON, Iowa. - The Illinois College volleyball team traveled to #24 Cornell College for MWC match Saturday morning. The Lady Blues battled tough competition but fell short by the final score of 3-1. IC now stands at 11-11 overall and 3-1 in the MWC.
The Lady Blues were led in offense by
Ligaya Garibay as she posted a career-best 22 kills while
Paige Knuffman contributed 20 kills. The duo combined for 42-of-52 total kills in the match.
Summer Brandis set up her teammates with 39 assists while
Jen Humbolt and
Ella Middleton each added one service ace.Â
On the defensive side of the net, Humbolt led IC with 18 digs while Middleton contributed 17 digs. Garibay recorded a double-double with 13 digs and 22 kills.Â
The Lady Blues will travel to North Central College for a non-conference match on Friday, October 20 at 7:00 PM in Naperville, IllinoisÂ
