JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- Illinois College volleyball hosted MWC opponent Ripon College on Friday night. The team picked up a big win after four sets 25-11, 25-11, 23-25, 25-14. This advances the Lady Blues to 6-11 overall and 2-1 in the MWC.
The highlight of the night featured IC senior
Jen Humbolt recording her 1,000th career dig as a Lady Blue. The team took the time to congratulate Humbolt in between sets. She was the standout defensively for IC recording 29 digs in the match.
The team was led offensively by
Paige Knuffman with 16 kills on the night.
Alyssa Burglund was also able to reach double figures in kills with 11. IC had two setters tally over 20 assists with
Summer Brandis leading the way with 22 and
Morgan Burr following closely behind with 20.
The team jumped ahead early taking wins in the first two sets. After falling short in the third set, IC bounced back and claimed the victory on a kill by Knuffman to end the match 3-1.
IC will travel to face Dominican University on Tuesday, 10/4 at 7:00 PM.
