RIVER FOREST, Ill.- Illinois College traveled to face Dominican University on Tuesday night. The team picked up a comeback win over the Stars after five sets 19-25, 16-25, 25-19, 28-26, 15-8. This advances the team to 7-11 overall this season.
Paige Knuffman was unstoppable recording 17 kills with a hitting percentage of .429.
Alyssa Burglund was also able to reach double figures in kills with 10.
Summer Brandis led the team with 22 assists, and
Jen Humbolt led the team with 25 digs.
After being down 0-2 the Lady Blues were able to fight their way back into the contest. IC picked up the win in the third set to keep the match going on a kill by
Laura Kaiser. The fourth set proved to be a competitive one. The Lady Blues would claim the win after a service ace by
Alex Johnson and an attack error by the Stars. IC would run away with the match in the final set defeating the Stars 15-8.
IC will return to action at the Wash U Invitational facing Millikin University on Friday, 10/7 at 7:00 PM.
