JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues started Midwest Conference competition this Friday hosting Beloit College. The team was able to defeat the Buccaneers in three sets 25-21, 25-19, 25-20. This advances the team to 5-9 overall and 1-0 in the MWC.
Paige Knuffman was exceptional leading the team with 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .308.
Jen Humbolt had an impressive night tallying 24 digs on the defensive end.
Morgan Burr was able to set her teammates up for success with 20 assists on the night.
The Lady Blues stood ahead 2-0 in the final set with a substantial lead over Beloit 24-16. Beloit was able to rally back to cut the lead to 24-20 after four straight points.
Laura Kaiser was able to end the match on a kill after a set by
Summer Brandis to seal the win for the Lady Blues.
IC will continue conference play hosting Grinnell College on Saturday, 9/24 at 1:00 PM.
