ALBION, Mich.- The Illinois College women's volleyball team traveled to compete on the second day of the Albion/Olivet Invitational. The team earned a split falling to #22 Albion College 0-3 and defeating Kalamazoo College 3-0. This advances the team to 4-9 overall this season.
GAME 1- Illinois College 0, #22 Albion College 3
The Lady Blues faced some tough competition in their first match of the day. #22 ranked Albion College was able to defeat IC in three sets 17-25, 19-25, 14-25.Â
Alyssa Burglund led the team with nine kills.
Morgan Burr was the assist leader in the match with 12.
Jen Humbolt led the defense with 15 digs.Â
GAME 2- Illinois College 3, Kalamazoo College 0
IC bounced back to defeat Kalamazoo in their final match of the tournament in three straight sets 25-13, 25-19, 25-15.Â
Riley Brandenburg led the offense with nine kills. Burr was able to set up her teammates on multiple occasions recording 18 assists in the match. Humbolt was the leader in digs with 13.Â
After winning the first two sets, IC took the 25-15 victory over Kalamazoo on a kill by Brandenburg.Â
IC will return to competition on Friday, 9/23 at 7:00 PM hosting Beloit College.Â
