Nine Inductees Welcomed to IC Sports Hall of Fame as Class of 2022

JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Athletics Department has announced its class of 2022 Hall of Fame inductees. Nine individuals will be honored at the Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Water's Edge Winery. Guests are welcome to join the celebration by purchasing a ticket to the event for $20. Greg Lehman, Michael Jennings, Chad Tobin, Mary Camerer, Paige Cullison, Marissa Giuffre, Candace Norville, Ian Vandeford, and Matt Petefish have all been selected as members of this year's Hall of Fame class. 
 
Greg Lehman '01 competed in the sport of wrestling during his time at IC. During his junior year, he won the Midwest Regional to qualify for the NCAA Tournament and was named an All-American. Lehman placed second in the Midwest Regional during his senior season, but was still selected as a wildcard qualifier for the national meet. He was an Academic All-American as a junior and senior and MVP his senior year. He received the William J. Downer Award as the most outstanding male student-athlete at IC in 2000. 
 
Michael Jennings '10 was a four year letter winner at Illinois College in the sport of football. Jennings played wide receiver for the Blueboys and had a remarkable career during his time at IC. He was a team captain, All-Conference, All-American, and team MVP. He was awarded the William J. Downer Award for most outstanding male student-athlete in 2009 and 2010. He is the current school record holder for single game, single season, and career receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.  
 
Chad Tobin '03 was a four-year letter winner at IC in the sport of men's basketball and was also a member of the baseball team. Tobin was a captain on the men's basketball team that claimed the MWC Tournament Championship and made an appearance at the NCAA Division III Tournament in the 2002-03 season. He was awarded the Hildner Free Throw Award for his stellar free throw shooting. He ranks fifth in career steals (130), sixth in career assists (363), ninth in steals per game (1.25), 10th in assists per game (3.49), and 15th on the teams career 1,000 point scorers with 1,148 points. In baseball, Tobin was the team's starting shortstop. He earned First Team All-Conference in 2000 and 1999, and Second Team All-Conference in 2002. He currently ranks seventh in the IC record books with 381 at bats.  
 
Mary Camerer '91 was a four-year letter winner for the women's basketball team. She was named the Athlete of the Year in the 1989-90 season and received the Doris B. Hopper award as most outstanding female student-athlete at IC in 1991. She was named the team MVP in the 1989-90 season leading the team with 14.1 points per game, and 7.3 rebounds per game. She received the team defensive award in the following season along with First Team All-Conference. 
 
Paige Cullison '14 was a four-year letter winner in softball and a three-year letter winner in basketball. She was named First Team All-Conference three years in a row for her efforts on the softball diamond. She made her mark in the IC school record book after her storied career. Some of her most significant records include ranking first in career total bases (246), first in career stolen bases (43), first in career runs scored (122), and first in career triples (16). She also holds the school records for runs scored in a single game (5), runs scored in a season (38), and triples in a single season (9).
 
Marissa Link (Giuffre) '06 competed at IC in the sports of cross country and track & field. She earned 10 varsity letters over the course of her career and four MVP awards. She received All-Conference 11 different times and was a MWC Champion six times. During her first year, Marissa received many team awards such as "Most Versatile", "Most Progress" and "BFS" (a weight lifting achievement award) with the track & field team. During her sophomore year, she was named team captain and team MVP of the Lady Blues cross country team. Marissa was a repeating champion placing first in the long jump and the 400-meter hurdles during her junior and senior seasons. During her senior season she earned All-Conference in every event she competed in both during indoor and outdoor track & field. She qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship placing 16th in the long jump in 2006.  Marissa currently holds the IC record for the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.40) and ranks fourth in the long jump (18-5.75).
 
Described as one of IC's greatest all-around athletes, Candace Norville '10 was a four-year letter winner in multiple sports. She received the most varsity letters in school history for an individual with 18. During her time at IC, she competed in indoor and outdoor track & field, tennis, basketball, and soccer. She received All-Conference in multiple sports, and was named Team MVP all four years in the sport of tennis. Norville received the Doris B. Hopper Award for IC's most outstanding female student-athlete three years in a row from 2008-2010. She also received Defensive Player of the Year three times during her career with the Lady Blues basketball team. She was a three-time NCAA National Qualifier and All-American in track & field competing in the Heptathlon twice in outdoor and the Pentathlon once in indoor. Candace left her mark in the school record books in the sports of track and field, basketball, and tennis. Some of her most significant records from outdoor track & field include ranking first in the 800-meter dash (2:18.22) and first in the high jump (5-4.25). In indoor track & field, she holds the record for the 800-meter dash (2:18.80) and the high jump (5-3.75). In basketball, she is a 1,000 point scorer ranking tenth in career points with 1,110. She is first in career steals with 223 and first in steals per game with an average of 2.48. She is also listed in the tennis record book ranking ninth in singles matches won with 15. 
 
Ian Vandeford '11 was a four-year letter winner and captain of the Blueboys baseball team during his time at IC. He was a First Team All-Conference selection during the 2010 and 2011 seasons for his efforts at shortstop. He is currently posted in the IC record book in multiple categories. He is tied for second all-time in hits with 146. His career records include ranking second in at bats with 469, tied for third in runs with 102, tied for seventh with 175 total bases, ranks seventh in runs batted in with 81, tied for fifth with 27 doubles, tied for fifth with 53 walks, and ranks sixth with 36 career stolen bases.

Matt Petefish '03 played multiple years on the men's basketball and baseball teams at IC. He was the first player in IC history to have both 1,000 points and 300 assists. He was awarded Newcomer of the Year during his first year. In his senior season, he led the team in scoring, assists, and steals and was voted the team MVP. He received Second Team All-Conference honors. Petefish has cemented his name in the IC record books throughout his career. He ranks fifth in the baseball career record books for fewest runs allowed with 47. In basketball, he stands second in career steals with 181 and second in steals per game with 1.95. He is ninth in assists with 328 and ninth in assists per game with 3.53. Petefish is on the 1,000 point scorer list totaling 1105 points in his career as a Blueboy.
