JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's golf teams hosted the IC Spring Opener to begin their spring 2022 season. The Blueboys were able to earn a second place finish out of the seven teams competing with a final team score of 606. The Lady Blues placed first defeating Iowa Wesleyan University with a final team score of 678.
The men's team was led by
Jarrett James placing second overall with a final individual score of 147 after the two rounds.
Dane Huber was the second man for the Blueboys placing fourth with an individual score of 150. The rest of the Blueboys first team included
Cole Bartels placing sixth (154), Sam Frericks placing seventh (155), and
Tre Wahlig placing tied for sixteenth (162).
The Lady Blues were led by
Hannah Harpster and
Alyvia Burr both tying for first with a total of 170 after two rounds. Other significant finishers for the women included
Katie Mae Milhiser and
Preslee Allen tying for third with scores of 171, and
Amy Fowler placing sixth overall with a score of 175.
The Blueboys will travel to compete in the Knox College Invite on Saturday, 3/26 and Sunday, 3/27 while the Lady Blues will host the Country Club Classic on Monday, 3/28.
