JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Lady Blues women's volleyball team earned themselves a hard fought win against Webster University after five sets 25-15, 20-25, 14-25, 25-15, 19-17. This improves the team to 4-2 overall this season.
IC was led by
Brenna Dameris finishing the match with 21 kills.
Reagan Gifford (18) and
Faith Stallard (10) were also able to reach double digits for kills in the match.
Morgan Burr was a huge resource for the Lady Blues recording 51 assists to set her teammates up for success.
Jen Humbolt led the team with 38 digs on the defensive end.Â
Illinois College found themselves in a battle in the fifth set of the contest. Both teams stood tied at 15-15 after a kill by Stallard. The Lady Blues and the Gorloks would trade points until being tied 17-17 late in the set. Dameris would earn a kill on an assist from Burr to give the Lady Blues the lead 18-17.
Sam Sabo would then seal the victory with a kill to end the match 19-17.Â
IC will look ahead to compete in the Oregon Trail Classic on Friday, 9/10 and Saturday, 9/11 against four different teams over the course of the two day tournament.Â
