JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys golf team took on Lincoln College in their first contest of the 2021 season. IC was able to place first overall breaking the school record for best total team score in a round with 287.
Illinois College was led by
Jarrett James and
Tre Wahlig each finishing the round shooting 70. The two battled it out in two playoff rounds resulting in James earning the individual win.
Tanner Romine (73),
Dane Huber (74), and
Samuel Frericks (76) rounded out the scores for the first IC team in the competition.
The Blueboys team of
Peter Hauser (74),
Andrew McKillip (78),
Cole Bartels (78),
Louis Faivre (79), and
Tobin Nell (79) was able to place second overall with a total team score of 309.
Illinois College will travel to compete in the Midwest Region Fall Classic on Friday, 9/10 and Saturday, 9/11 at 1:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
