MOUNT VERNON, Iowa- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to take on Cornell College in their season opener on Saturday. The team suffered a loss in both games to drop to 0-2 overall on the season.
Game 1- Illinois College 0, Cornell College 3
The Cornell College Rams were able to defeat the Lady Blues in straight sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-12.
Madison Klanke led the team offensively with six kills and
Morgan Burr led the team with eight assists. Defensively,
Logyn Little was able to total 12 digs in game one.
Game 2- Illinois College 0, Cornell College 3
The Lady Blues continued to struggle to get the momentum going in game two. They would suffer another loss to the Rams in straight sets 25-17, 25-17, 25-19. Brenna Demaris led the team with eight kills, while Burr totaled 15 assists in game two. Little would lead the team in digs in game two with 13 in the match.
The Lady Blues will travel to take on Greenville University on Monday, 3/8 at 7:00 PM.
