JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys and Lady Blues hosted Knox College and Millikin University in their second home meet of the season this Friday. Both teams had some stellar individual performances against the tough competition.
The Blueboys earned three event wins in the meet.
Austin Sharrah picked up a win in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:00.59. Sharrah was also able to place second in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 31.43.
Jake Howey earned an event win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.04. He was also able to earn a second place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (26.70). The other event win for the Blueboys came in the 200-yard medley relay with the team finishing in 1:56.21.
The Lady Blues had multiple top three finishes in the meet.
Marjori Russo placed third in the 50-yard freestyle (26.73) and the 100-yard freestyle (58.42). Other significant finishes came in the relays for the Lady Blues. The team placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:58.25) and third in the 200-yard medley relay (2:16.79).
Both the men's and women's teams will compete tomorrow at home in the IC Invite starting at 1:00 PM.
