DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Illinois College cheer and dance teams both advanced out of their preliminary rounds on Thursday at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championships, competing in the finals on Friday.
The cheer team was entered into the Game Day Division II competition. The team had a score of 80.47 in the prelims on Thursday, which moved them into the final day on Friday afternoon. Performing outdoors, Illinois College upped its score to 82.22. Those two scores combined for an overall rating of 81.7792, finishing sixth in their division.
The dance team competed in the Dance Team Performance III level, finishing seventh overall. Following a score of 79.92 in Thursday's prelims, they improved slightly to finish with an overall rating of 79.96 at the conclusion of the event.
