JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Week 6 of Collegiate League of Legends was played against Case Western Reserve University, as both teams came into week to with a record of 4-1.
Game 1 started off slowly in the early game as the kill score was 1-1 about 10 minutes in. Case Western was able to take an early advantage through laning phase by winning a team fight around dragon and using rift herald bot lane, going up 6-1 in kills and having a 2.5k gold lead at 15 minutes. The game got out of hand at about 20 minutes when Case Western was able to win a dragon fight and get a 5-for-1 ace and bot lane inhibitor. They then went mid and aced again to get mid lane inhibitor, which gave enough pressure to secure baron to push and end.
Game 1 ended in 25:43 with a final kill score of 23-3 in favor of Case Western. Stat leaders of game 1 go to Adam "IC Chill" Lee with a KDA of 1/4/1 and 39% of the team's damage, followed by Tony "King Me" Bautista-Foti with a KDA of 2/4/1 and 23% of the team's damage.
Game 2 was a much different story, as IC was dominant throughout this game. IC was able to win the dragon fights and take an 11-4 kill lead and 7k gold lead at 17 minutes. Split pushing was excellent from Dalton "Prankuru" Swaino, as he was able to solo kill their top and anyone else coming to stop him multiple times which led to getting the bot and mid inhib at the same time.
IC was able to take baron at 29 minutes by zoning the jungler from baron pit and securing the objective, winning shortly after with the pushing power from baron.
Game 2 ended in 32:54 with a final kill score of 27-9 in favor of IC. Stat leaders of game 2 go to Dalton "Prankuru" Swaino with a KDA of 8/0/5 and 32% of the team damage, followed by Adam "IC Chill" Lee with a KDA of 3/2/10 and 22% of the team damage.
Game 3 started fast in the favor of IC. There was an early dragon fight for infernal dragon that IC was able to 3-0 Case Western and take dragon to take an early 4k gold lead 10 minutes into the game. The game then stalled because of Case Western's waveclear with their mid lane pick of Anivia and bot lane pick of Sivir.
The mid game was a back and forth trade of kills in teamfights, with both teams baiting baron with vision control. The game turned in the favor of Case Western when IC traded an elder dragon for the baron when IC had the pressure for the entirety of the game.
Game 3 ended at 39:09 with a final kill score of 17-17, with Case Western taking the match win. Stat leaders for IC go to Adam "IC Chill" Lee with a KDA of 4/4/6 doing 36% of the team damage, followed by Tony "King Me' Bautista-Foti with a KDA of 5/2/8 and 27% of the team damage.
The result will end IC's season at 4-2, just short of making the North Conference playoffs.
