A combination of field conditions and cold temperatures are causing changes to baseball, softball and men’s tennis schedules.

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Due to a combination of field conditions and cold temperatures, a number of changes have been announced for home games at Illinois College this weekend.

The softball doubleheader between Illinois College and UW-River Falls originally set for Saturday has been cancelled with no make-up date between the two teams. Having lost these two games plus two others down in Florida, the Lady Blues will be looking to add contests to their schedule and those will be announced as soon as plans are finalized.

The men's tennis match between the Blueboys and Fontbonne University has been postponed, but the teams have settled on March 25 as the make-up date. That match is slated for 5 p.m. The IC men's tennis team was also scheduled to take on Prairie State College on Saturday afternoon. That matchup will still take place, but the time has now been bumped up to 1 p.m. and will be played indoors at the Springfield Racquet Club.

A total of four baseball games are on the docket at Joe Brooks Baseball Field on Saturday and Sunday. As of right now, the 12 p.m. start tomorrow for the doubleheader between the Blueboys and Coe College is still on, but the weather will be monitored throughout the day.

Update: The baseball schedule for Sunday has now been changed. Instead of three games beginning at 9 a.m., there will only be two games played on the day and the contest between Illinois College and Eureka College is postponed with a make-up date to be announced at a later date. The first game of the day will now feature Eureka taking on Elmhurst College at 11 a.m. Following that game, Elmhurst will meet IC beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m.
